Minutes for Regular Commissioners Board Meeting

June 22, 2011

 

 

Call to Order:  Commissioner Cox called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.

Roll Call:  Commissioners Cox, Cole, Peckinpaugh, Cammick and Honc were present.

Chief Bradley, Deputy Chief Marzella, Engineer Cook and Inspector Roach were present.

Pledge of Allegiance:

Setting of Agenda: Commissioner Cammick moves to accept agenda as presented, with Commissioner Honc to second. Motion passed unanimously. 

 

Approval of Minutes: 

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Commissioner Cammick presented the Treasurer’s Report for 5/24/11-6/20/11.  Commissioner Honc moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report with Commissioner Cole to second.  Motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner’s Procedures Report Packet for Month End:  On file for review.

 

Cash Disbursements/Income Statement:   Commissioner Cole moved to approve the income statement and cash disbursements with Commissioner Honc to second. Motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner’s Expenses:  None submitted.

 

Guest Speakers:  None present.

 

Public Comment – Agenda Items:  None noted.

 

Volunteers/Explorers:  Deputy Chief Marzella gave update.  Next month we will have Gerard Cicoria our newest Firefighter here for introduction.

 

Auxiliary:  Commissioner Peckinpaugh give report – Letter of thanks for Domino’s and Winn-Dixie for food prepared for the June 15th and 16th brush fire sent to Eagle. Letter sent to the 3 captains for review regarding future food desires.

 

CERT:   Chief Bradley gave update.  

 

Firefighters: Engineer Cook expressed his gratitude to the Auxiliary for what they did at the brush fire, and thanks the Commissioners for also showing up. There were 78 people at the brush fire, and 14 of the 18 districts were there, also. 7 of our volunteers were there.

 

Chief’s Report:

            1.  Firefighter Recognition – Commends the guys for awesome job done at the fire no houses were lost. There was scorched siding, and a shed and boat were lost along with some yard vegetation. Make sure if you need to come to a scene you need to have ID. Deputy Chief Marzella commends Captain Crotty for the outstanding job he did; he was on for 48 hours.

Chief Bradley states we have a gentleman retiring but he asked not to be brought into the meeting. Engineer Doug Cassidy has 15 years with us; we have a plaque to present to him.

2.  Monthly Report – May 2011 presented.  Brief discussion follows.

            3.  Inspector’s Report – May 2011 was presented.

4.  Matlacha Station 4 – Engineer Cook states we don’t have the preliminary report to

present at this meeting but we should have it by the July 22nd workshop. Engineer Cook presents questionnaire that is being presented to shift personnel; because of the fire we didn’t have time to get to everyone. Brief discussion follows.

 

 Old Business:  Financial Statements for September 30, 2010 – Commissioner Peckinpaugh moves to approve the Financial Statements ending September 30th 2010 with Commissioner Cammick to second. Motion passed unanimously.

 

New Business: Nothing presented.

 

Public Comment:  General – Nothing presented.

 

Good of the District: Chief Bradley asked if anyone commissioners are interested in participating in the July 4th parade. Brief discussion follows. Commissioner Cole states he will not be in town for the July Special and Workshop Meeting.

 

Commissioner Honc moves to adjourn with Commissioner Cole to second. Motion passed unanimously.
