Minutes for Regular Commissioners Board Meeting

November 17, 2010

 

 

Call to Order:  Commissioner Cox called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

Invocation:

Pledge of Allegiance:

Roll Call:  Commissioners Cox, Cole, Cammick and Honc were present. Commissioner Peckinpaugh excused absence.

Chief Bradley, Deputy Chief Marzella, Inspector Roach and Linda Richter were present. 

Election of Officers:

            Chair - Commissioner Cammick nominates Ken Cox with no other nominations, Commissioner Cole seconds. Motion passed unanimously.

            Vice-Chair – Commissioner Cammick nominates Ken Honc with no other nominations, Commissioner Cole seconds. Motion passed unanimously.

            Secretary – Commissioner Cammick nominates Jim Cole with no other nominations, Commissioner Cox seconds. Motion passed unanimously.

            Treasurer – Commissioner Cole nominates John Cammick with no other nominations, Commissioner Honc seconds. Motion passed unanimously.

Setting of Agenda:  Commissioner Cole moves to accept agenda as presented with Commissioner Cammick to second. Motion passed unanimously..

Approval of Minutes: 

Treasurer’s Report:  Commissioner Cammick presented the Treasurer’s Report for 10/26/10-11/16/10.  Commissioner Honc moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report with Commissioner Cole second.  Motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner’s Procedures Report Packet for Month End:  On file.

Cash Disbursements/Income Statement:   Commissioner Cammick moved to approve the cash disbursements and income statements with Commissioner Cole to second.  Motion passed.

Commissioner’s Expenses:  None were submitted.

Guest Speakers :

Public Comment – Agenda Items:  .

Volunteers/Explorers:  Deputy Chief Marzella gave update. .

Auxiliary:  No auxiliary members present.   

CERT:  Chief Bradley gave update.  

Firefighters:  

Chief’s Report:

            1.  Firefighter Recognition – Brief update given.  

2.  Monthly Report – October 2010 report was presented. Brief discussion of arson and is it related to our situation in regards to structure fires.   

            3.  Inspector’s Report – October 2010 report was presented.                                              

4.  Matlacha Station 4 – Chief has nothing to report at this time.   

Old Business: 

New Business: Language classes will be starting at the end of the month. They are trying to work out a schedule. (teaching English) Commissioner Cammick questions if they could teach Spanish

to our employees.

Public Comment:  General –

Good of the District: Commissioner Cox wants to thank Commissioner Peckinpaugh for the work

he has done as Chair. Commissioner Cole is getting card for Commissioners to sign and send to

Commissioner Peckinpaugh.

 

Commissioner Cammick moves to adjourn with Commissioner Honc to second. Motion passed unanimously.
